About Me
Qualified Sports and Development Coach
Hi I'm Matty, owner of MK Sports Coaching and Development. I completed my qualification in level 5 Sports Coaching and Development in 2017 and decided to set up my own business having gained experience working with others. I set up MK Sports to let me expand and work in numerous schools offering quality PE coaching as well as branching further into Rugby coaching by creating MK Rugby Academy. I thought setting up my own business and working for myself was the best way for me to achieve coaching at the highest standard and have something I was proud of, with the potential to expand. I live in Kendal and am lucky enough to currently work in a number of Primary schools around Cumbria and the South Lakes coaching PE sessions and holidays sports camps.

My Own Sporting Experience
I have always been a keen sportsman and was involved in many sports throughout Primary and Secondary school. Rugby soon become the focus and I went on to play in the Ulverston Rugby League as a child and their first team as an adult. I played for Kendal first team before playing in the Fylde team for a year and have more recently become a part of the Kirkby Lonsdale first team.
I have also been lucky enough to play abroad both in South Africa - where I played for the Maties 7's team and trained alongside the Springbok 7's - and New Zealand where I was part of the Ashburton Celtic U21's squad.
